Review: Wayward #1

Comic Reviews

Jim Zub has a pretty good track record when it comes to creator-owned series’. He currently has Skullkickers with Image Comics, which has been running for a few years now. Along with work-for-hire projects like Marvel’s Figment and IDW’s Samurai Jack, that is a solid track record of quality work. Along with Steve Cummings, John Rauch, and Marshall Dillon, they hope to see the trend continue with Wayward.

Wayward has been described as Buffy, The Vampire Slayer for a new generation. Let’s see if that holds true.

Comic Reviews
DiRT and The Apocalypse are finally back with a fresh episode of the drunkenest podcast in comicdom! This episode, they geek out over Star Trek (and also anger the hardest hardcore Trekkies), discuss why the vampires in Day Men don't suck (so to speak), DiRT cops to reading New Avengers, Apocalypse admits he's way behind on Spider-Man, and they both drink more moonshine - which is always a disaster waiting to happen.

Review: Uncanny X-Men #24

Comic Reviews

“The Last Will and Testament” is billed as a tie-in to the Original Sin event. Honestly, so far there is nothing in revealing Charles Xavier’s will that links it to Original Sin. Except a secret from Xavier’s past being brought to the forefront. Anyway, if you ignore all that, the reader gets a pretty compelling story that assembles Cyclops’ X-Men and the X-Men of the Jean Grey School.
